Ottawa mayoral candidate Alex Lawson has released a housing and homelessness plan that relies on a one-year cut to building fees and a "top-to-bottom review" of emergency shelters.
Lawson, who owns a home framing company and filed his nomination papers to run for mayor on Friday, faulted the 2024 decision to increase development charges on new homes amid rising rents.
